With our extensive prior experience of building pools, we are more than capable of undertaking minor or major refurbishment to your beloved swimming pool. If you are in our coverage area, then no job is too small. Some of the more common refurbishment projects that we do include:
1. Pool Liner Replacement
We will measure your pool (doesn’t matter if it is empty or filled up, but the water needs to be clear if full), order a liner for your pool and, usually within two weeks, be back to fit the liner and re-commission your pool. If you have filtered and treated water in your pool, then we can store it in a purpose built temporary storage tank next to your pool and refill the same when finished. There is a variety of liners available but our recommendation always is the strong and durable on-site lining system.
2. Pool Coping and Surround Replacement
Although not always, but very frequently, pool owners wish to change both the liner and the surround of their pool so that it looks brand new. We use a three men team to ensure that once the liner has been delivered to site, the entire process is completed within a week. You will have minimum disruption when we are working on site.
3. Pool Rendering and Tiling
Re tiling of old pools is a specialist job, more so than new pools because more often than not, the need to retile originates from some structural or subsurface problem within the pool shell. At Middlesex Pools, we have the experience to accurately identify the root cause of problem and rectify it before putting the new pool tiles on. We have experience with mosaics, large format porcelain tiles and natural materials like slate that seem to be much in fashion nowadays.
4. Pool Filtration Upgrades
We regularly do pool filtration updates which not only include re-plumbing of pool or replacement of pool filter and pump, but also the fixing and commissioning of automatic chlorine dosing systems, UV/ozone treatment, modification of pool shell to fit lights, extra skimmers, inlets or addition of vacuum lines.
5. Indoor Pool Dehumidification Upgrades
We also perform yearly service on pool dehumidification units and can help you in the selection of a new dehumidifier if the old one has come to the end of its life. If you wish to convert your outdoor pool to an indoor pool, this is usually the only item you need to purchase as the existing filtration plant should be good enough for the job.
6. Pool Cover Updates
We also retrofit fabric and slatted automatic covers to existing pools. In majority of cases it is essential to surface mount the cover next to one side of the pool and cover it with a purpose made bench or countertop, and the only option to discreetly fit it is to build a cover pit next to the pool at considerable cost. But if your pool is more than 2m deep at the deep end and the is of the right depth profile (we can check that over the phone with you), it may be possible to fit a discreet cover in your pool without any major structural changes.
