Winter Closing

Our comprehensive winter closing  package includes the following:

  1. Remove the solar cover, wrap and store at appropriate place.
  2. Wash any automatic pool cleaner and store with solar cover.
  3. Sweep/hose the pool surround (Power washing can be arranged at extra cost).
  4. Empty skimmer and pool pump baskets.
  5. Scoop out the pool surface floating debris using leaf net.
  6. Brush tile band and walls using pool brush, and scrub inside skimmers.
  7. Vacuum pool to waste using heavy duty vacuum cleaner.
  8. Lower pool level to approximately 3 inches below skimmer mouths (not more than 18 inches below coping stones to avoid damage from high water table).
  9. Drain filtration system and exposed pipe work.
  10. Drain and empty any chemical in chemical feeder.
  11. Place all plugs in a secure place.
  12. Remove any accessories, e.g. steps, boards, rollers, nets, brushes and store.
  13. Isolate electrical supply to pool equipment.
  14. Isolate gas supply to boiler, switch off power, and drain safety device.
  15. Adjust pH to 7.2 using appropriate chemicals, and add long life algaecide.
  16. Super chlorinate pool water to 10ppm using shock chemical.
  17. Ensure everything is turned off for the winter.
  18. Fit and adjust winter cover.
  19. Report any defects found.

Winter closing service is charged at £180 including VAT (chemicals will be charged in addition)

Note: It is the client’s responsibility to keep the pool clear prior to the close. If we are asked to close a green pool, additional costs will occur.
